United Health One has added DEDUCTIBLE CREDIT to all its individual health products in the following states: AL, AR, AZ, DC, IA, IL, IN, MD, MI, MO, MS, NE, OH, OK, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, and WI.
This is an amazing benefit, because it rewards individuals and families for being healthy! While most health insurance carriers do nothing to enhance your policy, United Health One will lower your deductible when you do not meet it!
Here is how it works. If you buy a United Health One / Golden Rule health insurance plan in one of the states listed above you will receive a 20% deductible reduction every year you do not meet your deductible.
This deductible credit can accumulate until the new deductible is reduced by half. So a $2500 deductible Copay Select could reach a deductible of 50% or $1250.00.
Once the health plan deductible is met, the policy will reset and the original deductible will be in place. The reduction process will then start over and credit can be earned.
Example of deductible reduction:
Obama buys the Copay Select 5000. He is healthy and seldom uses his health insurance plan except for preventive visits and getting his prostate checked. Over a 4 year term, he never reaches his deductible.
Calendar Year 1 - Obama has the original deductible $5000.
Calendar Year 2 - Obama's deductible is reduced by 20%. His new deductible is $4000.
Calendar Year 3 - Still has not met deductible, so decreases another $1000, so he has a $3000 deductible.
Calendar Year 4 - Still has not met deductible, decreases to half original deductible. So Obama's new deductible is $2500.
Calendar Year 5 - Obama has some medical bills and meets his 2500 deductible. At this point his deductible would reset.
Calendar Year 6 - Obama has his original $5000 deductible and the system would restart and credits could be earned.
